Great cruise to Channel Islands and Brittany

After last years excellent cruise to the Outer Hebrides inspite of not getting to St Kilda we planned a mini cruise to the Channel Islands and Brittany, we were ably assisted by Mike and Jenny Jones and joined by Pete and Val plus Ed Mellor on Drama Queen at St Peter Port, met up with Phillipe and Janine Gudin at Lezardrieux. This year our cruise occupied most of June, Mike Jones and I set off from Dartmouth on Ist June for Aldernay where we spent two days, enjoyed the seafood pie at the Marais Hall, next to Guernsey St Peter Port, Mike survived the horrors of the Swinge!! (just), will have to get you that teeshirt Mike. Jenny, Val and Margaret came over on the ferry and we had good days exploring the island plus to trip to Sark, much more relaxing by ferry, spent all day there and didn't have to worry about the boat at anchor etc. Next headed for Brittany and Lezardrieux, met up with Philippe and Janine, Pete and I were very privileged to be invited to Phillipe's club du Tir du Triex where we met the muzzle loaders. Then came the river trip to Pontriex, as beautiful as ever, did the obligatory visit to Chateau du Roc Jagu, back down the Triex, Pete worried about clearance under the bridge but it looked as though he had plenty. Said goodbye to Drama Queen and headed round to StQuay PortTriex, huge marina, then across to Jersey, quite windy and on the nose. Good stay in Jersey, usually sights seen, Margaret and Jenny opted for a Flybe flight back to Bristol and Mike and I did a night passage back, not much wind and mainly motoring!
